CSA1 Maintenance calculator?

I'm afraid it is still a mystery to me (and propbably to most who's still on CSA1) how the maintenance payments gets calculated... the closest thing to figuring it out is this online spreadsheet:

I am still confused, but hopefully it can be of help to some.
